Electrolytic capacitor set for Bally Cheap Squeak, Turbo Cheap Squeak, Vidiot and Sounds Deluxe sound boards
IMPORTANT! Bally put out a tech bulletin regarding 7533 Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) failures on Turbo Cheap Squeak (TCS) and Sounds Deluxe (SD) boards. To prevent premature failure of the 7533 DACs, it is recommended to
remove capacitor C30 from the TCS board and C12 from the SD board and to leave these locations empty. These capacitors are still provided for use in the Cheap Squeak and Vidiot boards but do NOT use in the TCS or SD boards!
Kit includes all new, matching capacitors:
C4 (Cheap Squeak) or C92 (Vidiot):
Original = Axial Electrolytic 47uF, 16 Volt
Kit = Axial Electrolytic 47uF, 25 Volt
GPE part number CEA-47uF-25V-RMD
C29 (Cheap Squeak), C14 (Turbo Cheap Squeak), C107 (Vidiot) or C23 (Sounds Deluxe):
Original = Axial Electrolytic 470uF, 6 Volt
Kit = Axial Electrolytic 470uF, 16 Volt or 470uF, 25V
GPE part number CEA-470uF-16V-RMD or CEA-470uF-25V-RMD
C30 (Cheap Squeak), C12 (Turbo Cheap Squeak), C109 (Vidiot) or C24 (Sounds Deluxe):
Original = Axial Electrolytic 1000uF, 16 Volt
Kit = Axial Electrolytic 1000uF, 25 Volt
GPE part number CEA-1000uF-25V-RMD
C24 (Cheap Squeak), C3 (Turbo Cheap Squeak), C54 (Vidiot) or C31 (Sounds Deluxe):
Original = Axial Electrolytic 4700uF, 25 Volt
Kit = Axial Electrolytic 4700uF, 25 Volt
GPE part number CEA-4700uF-25V-RMD
Note - higher voltage rated capacitors are a good substitute for lower voltage rated devices.
Observe proper polarities when installing parts.
Improper installation can result in damage and/or injury.
The S45E kit is an "Electrolytic Capacitor Kit" and does not include other components. These boards sometimes have tantalum capacitor failures. Tantalum capacitors are available separately.
