Details
Single use packet.
Type GD900 - thermal conductivity = 4.8 W/mK
Not electrically conductive
For comparison -
Water has a thermal conductivity rating of 0.6 W/mK
Standard thermal compound has a thermal conductivity rating of 1 to 2 W/mK
High end thermal compound (silver content) has a thermal conductivity of approximately 8 W/mK
Note - the heatsink compound listed here does not have silver content and is NOT electrically conductive
Packet is advertised as containing 0.5 grams per packet, we have found the average amount to be closer to 0.4 grams per packet.
One packet is enough for two layers for TO-220 type transistors or one bridge rectifier.
A mica insulator for TO-220 type transistor requires two layers - one full packet per transistor.
If not using a mica insulator for a TO-220 type transistor then one packet is enough for two transistors.
If original design called for mica insulator -- ALWAYS reinstall (or replace) mica insulator. Proper hardware insulation (e.g. shoulder washer) may also be required.
Do not use with thermally conductive thermal gasket
